Glymes

Glymes

Dipolar, aprotic, inert solvents for chemical and pharmaceutical applications:

Glymes are polyglycol dimethyl ethers used as efficient solvents and catalysts in chemical synthesis. In addition to their highly efficient dissolving properties, the compound class of glymes is characterized by their high chemical and thermal stability.
The main areas of application of these "linear crown ethers" include

- Grignard reactions
- Phase transfer catalysis
- Reduction reactions
- Coupling reactions

Among others we have the following glymes in our product portfolio:

- Monoethylene glycol dimethyl ether ("Monoglymes")
- Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether ("diglyme")
- Triethylene glycol dimethyl ether ("triglyme")
- Tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether ("tetraglyme")
- Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether ("butyl diglyme")
- Diethylene glycol diethyl ether ("DEG EE")
- Dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether ("Diprop DME")
